NaijaMart’s ambition was an Amazon-style marketplace for Nigerian SMEs, but their pilot on an off-the-shelf theme collapsed under real traffic: commission maths were done manually in Excel every Sunday night, and vendors waited up to two weeks for payouts.
We rebuilt the platform around Paystack split codes so every order settles vendor share and platform commission at the moment of payment — no reconciliation runs, no payout backlog. Vendor onboarding includes BVN-anchored KYC, product moderation queues, and Termii SMS notifications for every order state change. The storefront ships category-level caching and lazy product grids that hold up on 3G connections.
The relaunch onboarded 400 vendors in its first quarter. Payout complaints — previously the number one support category — effectively disappeared.
